There are certain names in Southern Gospel Music that you just automatically associate with quality. Brian Free is one of those names. Of course, most of us remember him with Gold City and the many great songs from them. Since his Gold City days, Brian has travelled as a soloist and then started Brian Free and Assurance. This male trio has a great sound and this project, titled “Live Like We’re Redeemed” is a good one that will be enjoyed my many.

The project begins with “Somebody’s Miracle” and this song has a message that reminds us that sometimes it us who is someone’s answer to prayer or someone’s miracle. We must always remember to allow God to work through us. Next on the project is “That’s Just What Grace Does” and this beautiful song talks about the changing power of God’s Grace. It is a great song that is a big encouragement. “The Measure Of A Man” is next on the project and this song proclaims that the measure of a man is what is in the heart and not what you see on the outside.

The title song of the project is next and “Live Like We’re Redeemed” is a wonderful song that reminds us that we need to live our life like we are redeemed and be compassionate towards others and to show them mercy, forgiveness and grace. “He Will Carry You” is an awesome song of encouragement. The song is reminder that even though we may not be able to see it while we are going through it, God will carry us through the valleys of our life. Songs about God’s Mercy are always a hit with me and Brian Free and Assurance has a good one with “Mission Of Mercy.” Another song about God’s Mercy is next the guys do a wonderful job on “When Mercy Looks At Me.” This song has a beautiful message of how God sees mercy and grace instead of our sins and shortcomings when He looks at us.

“Forever Home” is a song that will encourage you if you have a loved one living in Heaven. I love the line that reminds us that our loved one is “forever Home and living in the arms of Jesus.” What a great picture those lyrics paint. The tempo picks up with “You Could Be The Difference.” It reminds us that we could be the difference in someone’s life and we should always be aware of that. The final song on the project is “One Mile World.” I love the message of this song and it encourages us to minister to those who are hurting in our own back yards!

Brian Free and Assurance has been putting out quality music for a number of years now. Brian, Mike and Bill have an outstanding project here that their fans are going to love! My favorite songs from this project are “Live Like We’re Redeemed,” “Forever Home” and “You Could Be The Difference.” The project is good in every way; from the production, to the orchestration to the vocal performances and the song selection, this is a good, all-around project.
