Ten songs are contained on this project by a family who clearly loves the Lord.  The Greesons have been singing for 23 years and have found charting success with numerous songs in the past.  The latest project from the Greesons is a continuation of that history and legacy.

The title of the project is “I’ve Come Along Way” which is also the title of the first song on this project.  With a solid harmonic sound this song talks about how God meets us wherever we are in life and puts us on that path towards Gloryland. We are not there alone, this song reminds us that both Jesus walks with us along that path towards Gloryland, and that we have the Comforter, or Holy Spirit, in our heart as well.  One of my favorite songs on this project.

“Angels are Waiting” is the next song.  It features a solid combination of solo work, and harmonies.  The message of this song is about angels, created beings that serve many functions.  One of which is to guide us as we leave this world to our new home in heaven.  The soloist knows that her time on this earth is drawing nigh, but she knows that there are angels who will be meeting her outside of her mansion door.

“I Love Walkin” is song number 3 on the Greeson’s project.  It talks about how glad we are that Jesus saves us and that we enjoy walking with the Lord.  It reminds us that Jesus never fails us and is with us all the time.  Sort of a “Bluesy” or “swing” beat guides this song.

The next song on this project is titled “Trust in God.”  A beautiful song featuring one of the female singers, this song, has a nice slow tempo containing the message that God, in his infinite wisdom, knows our life’s circumstances and that we should trust in God to help us with that.  Proverbs 3:5-6 come to mind with this song: “Trust the Lord with all thine heart.  Lean not unto thine own understandings, but in all thy ways, acknowledge Him and he will direct thy paths.”

“When the Clouds Roll Back” focuses on when the Lord returns to earth the second time!  What a day that will be!  We look forward to when our Lord and Savior Jesus does return to Rapture his church.  This song describes some of the features that will happen that glorious day!

The sixth song on this project is “Because of the Cross.”  We sometimes wonder why Jesus would love a wretch like us, but “Because of the Cross” we can live and we have a hope that can only be provided by God.  Our redemption only comes through the shed blood of Jesus at Calvary.  Beautiful, slow song with a solid timeless message!

“Forever and a Day” comes next.  This upbeat song features solo as well as harmony.  It talks about while we may not have much in material possession here on earth, what matters most is what we have with the Lord and where we will spend eternity.

“Leaving on My Mind” features the bass soloist. After listening to this song, it reminded me of of one of my favorite songs originally written by the cowboy Stuart Hamlen, and sung by “The Cathedrals” and other groups,  “This Ole House.”  While the beat and tempo between the two songs are significantly different, this song like “This Ole House” focuses on the fact that the shell God gives us for a body, wears out over time, we do grow old, we do grow tired, but there is a much better place we will be going to.  “Leaving on My Mind” gets us thinking about Heaven where we will have a glorified body.

The second to last title on this project is “I Have Been Blessed.”  What an awesome song that reminds us about the many blessings that the Lord gives us. Many specific blessings that the Lord gives us are listed in this song.  The old hymn “Count your Blessings” comes to mind with this song, but in this song, it says we have so many blessings that we don’t have time to count them all. God has been so good to us.  A beautiful song with an equally beautiful message!

“I’ll Put on a Crown and Walk Around” is the last, but not least, song on this project.  A very fast tempo, upbeat song that focuses on what we will be doing in Heaven.  Because of the description of what will be going on in Heaven, gives me encouragement to keep the faith until the day the Lord comes again.

Again, the Greeson’s are a family souled out for the Lord and their music shows it!  My favorite songs from this project are “I Have Been Blessed,”  “Because of the Cross” and “Trust in God.”   God is glorified and I was encouraged by this project.  I am sure you will be too.   For more information on the Greesons, visit their website at www.thegreesons.com.
