I have said it many times before but I really do enjoy getting projects from artists that I have never heard of!  I got one a couple of weeks from the Milby Family and this was my introduction to this fine group!  The project is a good one and I believe it will be a stepping stone for this group to grow their ministry and it will help them to get more and more fans!

The project starts out with the title cut.  “When I Sing” is the first song as well as the title of the project.  The song is an upbeat one and I love it!  Life really is so much better when we sing the encouraging message of Jesus Christ!  The next song is written by group members Robin and Tess Milby and “You Are On The Inside” is a phenomenal song that reminds us that we can have great peace on the inside because that is where Jesus lives!  No matter what is going on around us on the outside, Jesus is on the inside!  Awesome message and awesome song!  A Southern Gospel classic is next with “He’s A Personal Savior.”  I have heard countless groups sing this song and this version is a very good one.  The Milby Family follows up a classic Southern Gospel song with an incredible, old hymn.  The song is “At The Cross” and they have a beautiful and unique a cappella arrangement of this great old hymn.

“Jesus Will Come Someday” picks up the tempo again and this song, as you might expect, reminds the listener that Jesus is indeed coming back again!  This song reminds us of that and it reminds us what an amazing day that will be.  “He Saw Me” is another original composition by Robin Milby.  I really enjoy the message of this song as it reminds us that even on the day that Jesus died on the Cross, He looked ahead and he saw me.  It is a great song and a wonderful performance from the Milby Family.  Another song written by Robin and Tess Milby is next and it is titled “Read Your Bible Every Day.”  Now, there is no way you can argue with that statement and this song reminds you that we need to read our Bible every day to hear what Jesus has to say!  Next on the project is “Bless Your Holy Name Again” and this song is a beautiful song with an amazing message.  What a great song of worship and what a wonderful reminder that we need to bless the name of Jesus even when we face adversity in life.

The tempo picks up once again with “You Must Be Born Again.”  This a great Southern Gospel song and the Milby Family sings it perfectly!  The message of song tells us that the only way to Heaven is to be born again and I love the way this song conveys that message.  “Rest Easy, My Child” is next on the project and it keeps those great “convention” style songs coming!  I enjoyed this song and the tempo change in the middle of the song is just simply awesome!  The song has a wonderful message of resting easy in Jesus as well.  The next song on the project is “I Want To Be More Like Jesus” and this is a great reminder that our testimony is far more in our actions than in our words.  The final song on the project is “Everybody Said ‘Amen’” This is a great ending to a very good project!

Well, if you like traditional Southern Gospel Music, this project is going quickly become a favorite of yours!  The song is jam-packed of great songs and this family certainly knows what they are doing when it comes to singing this style of music.  I enjoyed every song on the project but my favorite songs were “You Are On The Inside,” “He Saw Me” and “Rest Easy, My Child.”  As I said, the Milby Family is a new group to me but I have a feeling this is not the last that I will hear from them.  They have good songs, great talent, good production and they sing good, solid Southern Gospel Music … that, my friends, is a recipe for success in this industry!  For more information, visit their website at www.milbyfamily.com.
