I get a lot of music from groups I have never heard of.  My contact with this group started with a phone conversation with one of the group members on my way home from work one evening.  The conversation was a pleasant one that led to them sending me a CD for review and inclusion on our radio station.  I was pleasantly surprised when I heard a high quality group and first rate production.

"God's Been Very, Very Good To Me" gets the project off to a rousing start by reminding us how powerful and good God really is.  "Write You Name Across My Heart" slows down the tempo a bit and the song is a beautiful ballad that the groups handles to perfection.  "I'm Gonna Move" is a good old fashioned barn burner and the Gospelmen do a great job singing this style.  The next song on the project is "Forever Changed" and I love this song that reminds us of the change that Jesus makes in our lives when we get saved.

"I Know I'm Going There" is another terrific song about going to Heaven that I really enjoyed.  "The Embrace Of Grace" may very well be the most beautiful song about Grace that I have ever heard.  A lot of credit goes to Phil Cross for writing the great song but the Gospelmen do a very nice job singing the song as well.  "I Know" is a wonderful old song written by Laverne Tripp and it is next on the project.

"Almighty King" is a beautiful, slow ballad and the song is sung masterfully by the Gospelmen.  "God Sits On High" is a terrific quartet song that the guys sing to perfection.  "Thank God For Kids" is a song made popular a number of years ago by the Oak Ridge Boys and it's great to hear the song again.  The final song on the project is one of my favorites!  The title is "When He Blessed My Soul" and I love this arrangement!

The Gospelmen might be the best kept secret in Southern Gospel Music.  This quartet is very good and I would put them up there with anyone traveling today.  The project is well produced with a great selection of songs and very strong vocal performances from all of the members of the group.  My favorite songs from this project are "When He Blessed My Soul," "God's Been Very, Very Good To Me" and "The Embrace Of Grace."  The Gospelmen are from Michigan and this group does an awesome job singing the old traditional Southern Gospel Quartet music.  I really enjoy the singing from my new friends, the Gospelmen and I can't wait to hear more from this awesome group.  For more information visit their website at www.gospelmen.com.
