One of the most celebrated groups to come along in Southern Gospel Music in the past several years is the Jim Brady Trio.  After spending several years with the Booth Brothers, Jim Brady, along with his wife Melissa and Tim Parton stepped out as the Jim Brady Trio to a great deal of fan fair.  The group has not disappointed in anyway and their debut project, titled "A New Chapter" is a great collection of music that is sure to set this group on an incredibly successful journey.

The project starts out with an appropriately titled song.  "God Of What's To Come" is a great testament for this group and for all of us as Christians as we step out into new chapters of our own lives.  The tempo picks up with "You Can Depend On Jesus" and this song is a great reminder of Christ's faithfulness to His Children.  We can depend on Jesus and we should never forget that.  Next on the project is "The Greatest Of All Miracles" and I love this song! It reminds us that of all of the great miracles that Jesus Christ performed, the greatest one of all is that He saved me!  "Steppin' Out In Faith" is a song about the faith we should have in God.  Yes, with all of the examples in the Bible of faith it should be easy for us to step out in faith and do what God has commanded us to do.

Jim and Melissa Brady has a hand in writing many of the songs on this project.  "On My Way Home" is one of those songs and I love it! It reminds us that we are just passing through this earth below and we are on our way Home! Next on the project the Jim Brady Trio kicks it up a notch with "Good Lord Willing."  I love the song and it talks about telling everybody about the Love of Christ every day of our lives! One of my very favorite hymns is "The Love Of God" so imagine my absolute delight to discover the song on this project!  I love this arrangement of the song and the performance is nothing short of perfect! "When He Saved Me" is the next song on the project and what a powerful message in this song.

"Ordinary Love" is a song that actually reminded me of my parents.  What a great song reminding us as Christians that our very ordinary love and simple acts of grace can and will touch the people in our lives.  I love the message of the song and the performance from Melissa is top notch as well. "If It Had Not Been" is a Southern Gospel classic and the Jim Brady Trio is surely up to the task of singing those songs!  What an amazing performance on this great, old song.  "The Half That's Not Been Told" has been recorded by several groups.  The Booth Brothers and The Bowling Family come to mind but I thing the Jim Brady Trio's version is my favorite version of this song.  What a great performance.  It is hard to imagine how you could end a project like this without a letdown but the Jim Brady Trio with "That Sounds Like Home To Me."  Another great performance on a familiar song with an incredible reminder of just what our final destination, as a Christian, is.

The Jim Brady Trio has already been praised by some of the greatest talent in Southern Gospel Music.  This project proves that the praise is well deserved many times.  With the incredible songwriting of Jim and Melissa Brady and the vocal talents of them and Tim Parton, you had to know they were set up for success.  The project has a nice selection of brand new songs with some old, classic songs mixed in.  My favorite songs from this project were tough to narrow down but I finally chose "Steppin' Out In Faith," "On My Way Home" and "The Half That's Never Been Told." All of the songs on this project are exceptional.  The entire project, from the song selection, to the production, to the vocal performances, is first class all the way and I, for one, cannot wait for the next project from the Jim Brady Trio!  For more information on the Jim Brady Trio, visit their website at www.bradyhousemusic.com.
