The National Quartet Convention  is considered THE mecca for fans, artists and industry personnel alike to come together and celebrate Southern Gospel Music. Thousands from around the world will gather this September 12th-18th unparalled event at the Kentucky Fair & Expo Center in Louisville, Kentucky to hear music, meet their favorite artists and see what new products and ideas will be introduced.

Shannon Perry will be live on the “Harvest Show” Thursday morning at 8:00 a.m. CST in South Bend, Indiana. This show reaches millions and it is a great opportunity to spread the word about what they are doing through their ministry.  She will be singing her new radio release “Keep On Pressing On” from “The Real Thing” CD and talking to them for about 10 minutes about “If the Shoe Fits.”  The program airs on “Direct TV” channel 367.

The latest single, from The Goodwins, "Heart Of The King" has debuted this week at #2 on The Southern Gospel Times Top 40 Chart for the week ending 7/24/10. The Goodwins are very excited about the response that the song has been receiving from radio nationwide. It came in at #87 on the Christian Voice Magazine's Top 100 for August as well. This latest single, features the newest additions to the group, Natasha Barker (Soprano Vocals) & Ron Hamilton (Bass Vocals).

We take this week to prepare listeners for the Bowling Family benefit concert in Hendersonville, Tenn.  On the show we talk with Kathy Crabb Hanna (Momma Crabb).  She gives us a health update plus she gives Mickey a possible date on when we could see The Bowlings back on stage.  We also talk with Morgan Easter (Jeff and Sheri Easter) as she tells us about her special connection to the Bowlings and what she did when she heard the news of the tragic bus crash.   All this plus a whole lot of fun on This Week in Gospel Music with Mickey Bell.
