The Sonmen Sign With Manor House PDF Print E-mail
Saturday, 28 August 2010 15:55

SomenThe Sonmen have signed a recording agreement with Manor House Music, a division of Mansion Entertainment. With this signing, the Sonmen become the newest member of the Manor House Music family of artists.

Many new quartets do not find themselves on the main stage of the National Quartet Convention within a year of their formation, but that defined the start of The Sonmen when they won the prestigious NQC Talent Competition in 1985 and performed on the main stage of NQC in recognition of their achievement. Subsequent radio success of their single, “Keep Looking Up”, further confirmed this quartet’s potential by the Southern Gospel industry. After a break in the 1990’s, the Sonmen have been back on the road continuing the legacy of the classic quartet sound similar to that of The Cathedrals, The Stamps and The Statesmen. Group members Mike Botts (lead), Aaron Perkins (bass), Dale Boreing (tenor), Jeff Perkins (baritone & piano) and Les “Buzz” Pilot (bass guitar) have found themselves performing with artists such as The Booth Brothers, The Nelons, Gold City, The Kingsmen, Karen Peck & New River, Jeff & Sheri Easter as well as making appearances on programs such as The Jim Bakker TV Show and The Branson Gospel Music Convention.

Candy Christmas On Daniel Britt & Friends PDF Print E-mail
Saturday, 28 August 2010 15:54

Coming up on a two-part edition of Daniel Britt & Friends, the weeks of 8/30 and 9/6: She comes from a family heritage of Gospel singers and has been singing herself since a very young age. Now, her Gospel Music ministry extends to more than the music. Daniel sits down with Candy Hemphill Christmas to talk about her connections to the Hemphills & Goodmans, plus her years on the Gaither Homecoming Tour. Today, Candy is still singing and recording, but the message of the Gospel in song is filtered through the lens of generosity to the homeless under "the bridge" in Nashville. Hear about her passion for helping those in need -- who also helped her through a dark time in her life. All of these life experiences have stirred the creativity behind her new album, "On The Other Side." We'll feature these new sounds, plus classic Candy Christmas hits through the years. Her story will encourage and challenge and her music will bring a freshness to a familiar voice in our field. Candy Hemphill Christmas, on the next two editions of Daniel Britt & Friends!
