Beyond The Ashes baritone, Kelllan Monroe, recently popped the question and got the answer he was hoping for. Shelby Nash, videography major at the University of North Carolina said "YES!!"
The proposal is a tough one for any guy to top. Kellan and Shelby were spending time with friends and family in one of their best-loved places, Savannah, GA. They enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Huey's (a favorite restaurant). Then Kellan took Shelby back over the Tybee Island to watch fireworks. He had set up some chairs and a basin of water out on a dock. Then, he took his soon-to-be fiance and sat her in one of the chairs. He got down on his knees right there on the dock, and, over looking the beautiful scenery, Kellan washed Shelby's feet as a promise to serve and lead her with humilty as Jesus' did. When he finished, he reached in his pocket and pulled out the stunning diamond engagement ring and asked her to be his bride. Through tears she said "yes."
The couple plans to marry late next year, following Shelby's graduation from college.
Kellan plans to continue on with his ministry as a part of Beyond The Ashes and Shelby plans to pursue a career relating to film and videography. Shelby has a great heart for ministry herself and a lot of experience with the wonderful world of the music industry. Her mother is Sophia Davis, owner of the Adoration Agency, and, her step father, Christian Davis, sings fulltime with Dailey and Vincent.
