Allison Durham Speer's latest project is very good and it will be enjoyed by all who hear it. The project has several familiar songs and Allison does a wonderful job singing them.
The projects leads off with a Kirk Talley written song. "I Found Peace In The Valley" is the title of the song and what a great message as it talks about finding the peace in the valley that only God can provide. The next track on the project is "Temporary Home." Many people will remember this song from the Gaither Vocal Band but Allison's version is also a very good one. I love the message as well as it reminds the listener that our home here on earth is only temporary! Another familiar song is next as Allison sings "I Am Redeemed." Of course, this song has long been an anthem of redemption! Allison goes "Old School" on the next song as she goes way back to get the upbeat song "Didn't It Rain." Before this project I had never heard this song by anyone other than a group but Allison turns in a very good performance on this song.
The next song on the project has long been a favorite of mine. "Thinkin' 'Bout Home" is the name of the song and it's a beautiful melody and lyric that speaks of thinking about our ultimate Home in Heaven. Joel Hemphill has written a lot of great songs over the years but none of the songs he has ever written are more clear than "Jesus Saves." The message is simple but very important! Allison delivers that message beautifully and I loved hearing that song again. Another song that talks about God's changing power is the great Gaither Song titled "Go Ask." Allison does a remarkable job delivering this beautiful melody. The message is awesome and you will be blessed by this great song.
Another song from the classic vault of Southern Gospel is next as Allison sings "John The Revelator." I have always enjoyed this song and this version is one of the better I've heard. "Will The Circle Be Unbroken" is another of those old convention songs and it is next on this project. I had not heard this song in a long, long time and I enjoyed hearing it again. "Lord Send Your Angels" is an awesome song with an incredible message of encouragement that we can ask God to send His Angels and protect us. It is a beautiful prayer set to music. The final song on the project was written by Country Music singer Vince Gill but has been sung quite often in Southern Gospel Circles. "Go Rest High On That Mountain" is the song and Allison does a very good job singing this beautiful song.
Allison Durham Speer is an awesome singer! I love her projects because her voice is always so clear and you can understand and be blessed by every word she sings. This project if chocked full of fairly well known songs and all of them are performed flawlessly. My favorite songs from this project are "I Found Peace In The Valley," "Jesus Saves" and "Go Ask." The entire project is fantastic and I highly recommend getting a copy for yourself! You won't be sorry! For more information on Allison, visit her website at www.allisondurhamspeer.com.
