Our latest group of projects submitted to us for review by Crossroads Records included a handful of new artists and New Desire is one of them. This project is a good one and we are happy to have discovered another great artist on the Crossroads label.
Brenda Robinson and Jeff Ferguson had a hand in writing a number of the songs on the project includng the first one written by Brenda. ""This Battle Is Mine" is a very good start to this recording as the up tempo song reminds us that our battles are really the Lord's Battles. The next song is titled "Fragments" and this slows down the tempo quite a lot as New Desire sings this song. "I Met That Man" reminds us that once we meet Jesus our life will change forever. A Southern Gospel classic is next as New Desire sings "Getting Ready To Leave This World." I loved hearing this song again and New Desire did a great job singing it.
"Time In The Garden" is the title song of the project and I can see why. The song is a powerful song that New Desire sings very well. The song reminds us of the importance of spending time each day alone with Christ. "Living In The Promise" is the next song on the project and this song talks about living in the promise of God's Word and that His Blessings are for us. It is a great thought and a wonderful promise. "Because I Love You" is an awesome song with a beautiful message that you should hear for yourself. The next song on the project is another slow, melodious song titled "At Your Feet."
Things pick up tremendously with the up beat song "We're Gonna Have A Good Time." The song basically says that we are going to have a good time in the Lord. The next song is a great song about God's Word. The song is titled "I Love Your Word" and it reminds us to open always look to God for the answers to our problems and our daily walk with Him. I love the message of the next song as "It Doesn't Matter Who You Are" talks about how God can and will save anyone no matter who you are or what you hav done. It also features a guest appearance by Lauren Talley, one of the producers of the project. The final song on the project is a classic and New Desire does a fine job singing "Through It All."
New Desire can sing without a doubt! This project features several song performance that are top notch and having a resident songwriter in Brenda Robinson is also a bonus. The project has a good selection of songs, good production and outstanding vocal arrangements and performances! That sounds like a winning formula to me! My favorite songs from the project are "This Battle Is Mine," "Getting Ready To Leave This World" and "Because I Love You." New Desire is a group that you may not have heard of but you will not be disappointed in anyway in this top notch recording.
