The Akins are a brand new group to me but they sure have impressed me with their self titled project.  This project has twelve cuts that you will completely enjoy!

"Faith Thing" was written by Nick Akin and this song talks about how God cannot be explained, it is simply a faith thing!  "I'll Be Happy When ..." was written by Nick and Eli Akin and it is a unique song that has a good message.  "What If God Says No" is the next song on the project.  It is a great song that reminds the listener that just because God says no to our prayer doesn't mean He loves us less.  It is a great reminder and a wonderful song.  "Any Day Now" is a song that reminds us that God can come at any time and we need to be ready.  I love the song!

"Love At First Sight" is the next song and it is a song that tells a story of love at first sight through looking at a newborn baby but then it ties in the love of our Heavenly Father as well.  It's a well crafted song and a wonderful message.  "God's Company" is an awesome song!  It reminds us that no matter what our life shows us we are employed by "God's Company."  It's an upbeat song that everyone should take some time to listen to!  "When You Get Home" is another song that tells a couple of stories that can happen in life and wraps it up with Christ's willingness to welcome us back anytime we stray.  "The Moment" is the final song on the project and it reminds us of the moment that Jesus saved us!

As I said, this project by the Akins impressed me a lot.  This project is very well produced and the songselection is exceptional.  The group has talented singers, songwriters and instrumentalists and that is surely a recipe for success in this business.  My favorite songs from this project are "What If God Said No," "Comfortable" and "God's Company."  This project is awesome and you need to get a copy and get exposed to the awesome music of the Akins!  For more information on the Akins, visit their website at www.theakinsonline.com.
