The Watkins Family is a group that we have been familiar with for quite a while now. If you like your Southern Gospel Music with a hint of bluegrass music than this group will quickly become a favorite of yours.
"She Found Jesus Alive" gets the project off to a rousing start. The next song on the project is "Love That Wouldn't Let Go" is a beautiful melody with an awesome message of God's Love that will not let go. "What A Wonderful Name" is a song written by Gerald Crabb. It talks about how wonderful and powerful that Name of Jesus is! "The Captain Reached Down For My Soul" is another song about Jesus Christ reaching down to us and saving us.
The next song is a unique title and a unique song. The title is "She's Working On Her Testimony" and the song speaks of how going through trials leads to great testimony. I'm not sure you can ever go wrong with a song titled "Love And Grace" and if the song is written by Jim Brady and Rodney Griffin then you know you have a great song! "To Know You More" is a beautiful song about the thirst within the Christian to know God more.
The next song opens with an introduction from what I believe is a sermon from Jerry Falwell. "Sometimes You Gotta Rock The Boat" is an upbeat song that give a great message that sometimes you just have to ride out the storms of life. "Closer To Home" is a wonderful song that tells a touching story of how they are not getting older, they are just getting closer to home. "What Love Has Grown" is a great song that talks about how an act of love can lead to many other positive things. The final song on the project is a true classic. The song is "Peace In The Valley" and it also includes a great recitation which was written by Karen Peck Gooch.
The Watkins Family has a lot of talent. They are able to sing a couple of different styles of music and they have a great style of mixing Southern Gospel Music with bluegrass. My favorite songs from this project are "Love And Grace," "To KNow You More" and "What Love Has Grown." The Watkins Family has a very good project here and I am certain that their fans will love it.
