Artist: Liberty Quartet
Project Title: The Journey
Label: CrossLine Records
Producers: Doran Ritchey, Phil Cross, Roger Talley
We have reviewed a couple of project from the Liberty Quartet here at the Southern Gospel Music Forum and we can always rely on them to give us a high quality recording. Their latest project is no exception to that and you will enjoy the music of the Liberty Quartet!
The title song is also the first song on the project and "The Journey" is an awesome song that reminds us that Jesus gives strength for the journey of our lives. The next song on the project is a familiar one as the Liberty Quartet goes back and gets an old Gaither Vocal Band song titled "He Come Down To My Level." The guys do a great job on the song and it was nice to hear this song recorded again. "I Made It Mine" slows things down a bit as this Doran Ritchey song reminds the listener that no matter how much you have heard the story of Christ, you cannot be saved until you accept it yourself. The next song on this project is a catchy tune written by Rodney Griffin. The song is titled "I Love Living In Grace" and the song talks about what a great life living for God and in His Grace is.
"Till There Was Jesus" is the next song and I love the harmony on this song! The song also has a powerful message of how we never lived until Jesus came into our lives. The tempo picks up on "God Made A Way." This is a song proclaiming that God made a way for us to cross the great divide. "He Came To Me" is a beautiful song that reminds the listener that we God will come to us wherever we are. The next song features Doran Ritchey who also wrote the song. The title of the song is "The Welcome" and it is a beautiful song talking about God calling the sinner to Him.
"Too Long" is an upbeat song and it's a song that talks about the changes that Christ will make once you accept Him. "He'll Come Through" is a wonderful song of encouragement. It reminds us that God will always come through in His time! The next song on the project sounds familiar to me but I cannot remember from where! The title of the song is "In The Day Of The Lord." The song has a beautiful melody and awesome harmonies in it as it speaks of Christ coming back to take us Home! The project winds up with a terrific song titled "Welcome To Heaven." This song talks about what that day will be like when Christ calls us to Heaven.
The Liberty Quartet has a tremendous amount of talent. They have great harmony and can sing the traditional male quartet music as well as anyone that I have heard recently. This project has twelve songs and all of them are very good. My favorite songs from this project are "He Came Down To Me Level," "I Love Living In Grace" and Till There Was Jesus." The production is great. The song selection is wonderful. The vocal performances are first class. The project is awesome! I'm not sure there is anything else to say.
