DORA POP
ANNOUNCES RELEASE OF NEW PROJECT (story added February 28)
Nashville,
TN (February 28, 2008) – Dora Pop is scheduled to release her debut-recording
project, Who Am I, this spring. Produced by Jason Wall, Who Am I features 10
songs penned by some of Southern Gospel's favorite songwriters, including Joel
Lindsay, Marty Funderburk and rising songwriters Joseph Habedank and Matthew
Holt. Who Am I also features a bonus track of the title song, penned by Rick
Goodman, in Pop's native language of Romanian.
Gospel music's favorite mixed quartet, the Perrys, join renowned pianist,
Gordon Mote, as just a few of the many talented musicians supporting Pop on
Who Am I. "I was so impressed by her heart for ministry, and her ability to
draw the listener in as she sings," exclaimed Mote. "She has an engaging
personality, and I know people will love her and her new project." The Perrys
join Pop on "The Rock," a song penned by Joseph Habedank and Matthew Holt.
Libbi Perry Stuffle states, "Dora Pop is a name that is sure to be a household
name before too long. Dora is not just another singer, she is a singer that
first of all knows WHO she is singing about and secondly, knows WHAT she is
singing about. She feels the song and in return you feel what she is singing,
her love for Jesus Christ with every word that comes out of her mouth." The
project also features many of Nashville's most acclaimed musicians Gospel
music fans adore listening to --Brent Mason, Paul Franklin, Duncan Mullins,
Bryan Sutton, Aubrey Haynie and Shannon Forrest making this a powerfully
unique collaboration. Libbi Perry Stuffle says, "This is a must have album!"
Pop, began the recording process in late-October, 2007. "I grew up listening
to and singing Southern Gospel music and always felt God calling me to this
ministry. I've always dreamed of recording a project with such powerful songs
from Southern Gospel's most phenomenal songwriters and such incredibly
talented musicians, but I didn't think it would happen on my first project,"
stated Pop. "This project is testimony that whatever your dream is, God's
dreams for you are bigger than yours."
Dora Pop was born in Oradea, Romania, and came to the United States at the age
of two with her mother and sister. Her father had fled the country when Dora
was six months old to come to America and provide a better life, full of
religious freedoms, for his family. "My father is the greatest musical
influence in my life," stated Dora. "Southern Gospel was practically the only
music we were allowed to listen to growing up. Since my dad was raised in a
communist era, he especially cherished the freedom of listening to Gospel
music. He taught me the importance of having passion when singing about the
Savior."
"Open The Sea," a ballad relating to God's ability to perform miracles, penned
by Amy Henning, will be released to Southern Gospel radio in early-Spring.
Pre-sales for Who Am I, begin March 15, 2008.

people. It is a good way to tell people about Christ.”

each new place an adventure.

many are leaning towards contemporary or praise music.
“You see a lot of people changing to more of a country sound to get more young
people,” he said. “It’s all about the sound.”
His mother Karen says being on the road is a calling in the life of the group.
“God has lead us to do it, opened doors and provided opportunities to let us
continue doing it,” she said.

The book, authored by Dottie Rambo's manager, Larry Ferguson and Mike Collins,

"We're all excited about this new printing," Dottie stated this week. "I'm so
pleased with what Larry has written."
According to Woodland Gospel spokesperson, Cheryl Davis, besides being

her after its initial release. "Fans seem to just love the book for it takes a
fun and loving look at life on the road with this American Gospel music
treasure. Some of the tales are knee- slapping funny, other stories are

F. KEITH
SCOTT AUTHORS NEW BOOK (story added February 26)
LOGAN,
WV — The author of After All These Years: The Authorized Biography of the
Hoppers, one of the top-selling books in Southern Gospel music, will soon
release his new literary effort, The Feuding Hatfields And McCoys. Besides
being a huge Southern Gospel fan, F. Keith Davis is also a noted West Virginia
historian and collaborated on this newest project with Dr. Coleman C.
Hatfield, the late great- grandson of feud family patriarch Devil Anse
Hatfield.
"One of the highlights of my life has been working with the Hopper family on
their story. I feel I have been blessed by the many encouraging words from
readers nationwide since that book's release. In this new literary work, I
have researched and documented the real story behind one of the nation's most
notable and violent family squabbles.
"I co-authored this work with Hatfield family historian Dr. Hatfield, who
unexpectedly passed away in January at the time we were finalizing the
manuscript. His passing was a great loss to all of us. He was a dear friend."
Even before the gunfire and violence subsided, sensational stories were being
published in newspapers and magazines around the country about the Hatfield
and McCoy feud. Most of the early articles were exaggerated or grossly
inaccurate, so says author F. Keith Davis; and even today, he says the facts
surrounding the feud are often lost in a fog of inaccuracies.
However, a new book, entitled, The Feuding Hatfields and McCoys: Timeline And
Pictorial History, soon to be released by Woodland Press, of Chapmanville, WV,
helps set the record straight.
The Feuding Hatfields and McCoys will soon be available on a pre-order basis,
on www.woodlandpress.com; and after
it is released in late-March, it will also be available at
www.wvbookco.com, or by calling
888-982-7472. It will also be available and at your local bookstores. |

YOUNG
HARMONY RELEASES NEW BOOK (story added February 19)
A
‘Miraculous’ Mindset Can Change Your Life
Poet/singer/songwriter reminds readers they’re not outside of God’s grasp
LONGWOOD, FL— A book filled with modern-day testimonies of God's supernatural
intervention, GOD's Still God (Modern Day, Supernatural Miracles) (paperback,
978-1-60477-620-1; hardcover, 978-1-60477-621-8) by Johnathan Bond will grow
your faith and spur you to share your own stories of what God has done in your
life. The author was in a major auto collision and pronounced dead at the
scene, but God pulled him through. The author's wife was given a "death
sentence" from cancer, but God healed her body.
"I would love to see people's faith in God strengthened by reading this book,"
says Bond. "When our faith is strong, nothing is impossible! Readers will gain
a heightened trust as they read the miracles that God is still doing today.
When you consider that the very One who created the earth has time to reach
into the lives of mere failures—that is newsworthy!"
Bond says he wrote the book to remind "everyone, everywhere" of the many
miracles that Jesus did when He walked the earth, and to let people know that
He is still doing miracles today.
Johnathan Bond, along with his wife, Ginger, has traveled in music ministry
with the group Young Harmony of Chattanooga, Tennessee, for the past 12 years.
He wrote the 2007 Dove-nominated Song of the Year, "GOD's Still GOD" as well
as many others, some of which have been recorded by other well-known musical
artists. He was honored by the American Biographical Institute and accepted
into the Famous Poets Society.

them in the prestigious Group of the Year category as well as three other
categories. They are nominated alongside such perennial favorites as Casting
Crowns, Selah, Point of Grace and The Clark Sisters, among others.
The Gaither Music Group recording artists also received nominations for
Southern Gospel Recorded Song of the Year for “Get Away Jordan,” Southern
Gospel Album of the Year and Long Form Video of the Year, both for Get Away
Jordan. The 39th Annual Dove Awards will be held at Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry
House on April 23rd.
"We have been working so hard these last five years, so when we received the
news about receiving four nominations, I was a little overwhelmed,” Haase
reacted. “I just had to drop my head and say ‘thank you Lord!’ Every once in
awhile God gives you these blessings and it just lets you know that people are
catching on to our music. We have the privilege and responsibility to keep
working hard for Him."
One of the most acclaimed and exciting artists in gospel music, Ernie Haase
and Signature Sound has been garnering attention and awards since bursting on
the scene almost six years ago. Haase began his career with the famed
Cathedrals Quartet and formed Signature Sound in 2002 after the Cathedrals
retired from the road. The group is in the studio working on a new CD for a
late 2008 release. |

THE FOURTH
MAN QUARTET WINS TALENT CONTEST (story added February 15)
The Fourth Man Quartet of Orlando, Florida won ‘First
Place’ at the SOUTH GEORGIA GOSPEL SING-OUT & TALENT SEARCH in Fitzgerald,
Georgia an event hosted by Bill Bailey Concerts on January 20, 2008!
This event consisted of two concerts; One on Friday night January 19th with
The Perrys, Brian Free & Assurance, Mike & Kelly Bowling, and The Crabb
Revival and the second on Saturday night January 20th with Michael Combs,
Karen Peck & New River, The Freemans, and Crossway, plus the Talent Search
Winners. The Fourth Man Quartet shared the stage with four greats of Southern
Gospel Music.
The Fourth Man Quartet originally began less than two years ago as a small
men’s ensemble at their local church, Calvary Assembly of Orlando. The four
men of the quartet sensed God’s call into ministry outside the walls of their
church, purchased equipment, and began singing in local jails, prisons,
half-way houses, and small congregations in the area this past summer. The
varied styles in their repertoire appeal to mixed audiences.
God uses The Fourth Man to reach out with the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ!
Even while at the contest, God put together circumstances that allowed the men
to sing during a Sunday morning service at the Potter’s Touch Church which
meets in the hotel they used over the weekend. Upon arrival for the service
they were given word that the pastor’s wife had been taken to the hospital and
he was unable to lead the service. The church was blessed with a free high
quality concert where new converts were won and everyone was blessed. Praise
the Lord!
The Fourth Man Quartet has their first CD project nearly completed and expect
it to be released by the end of February 2008, They are currently available
for bookings and can be contacted by phone at: (321) 283-4514 or email at:

SOUTHERN
GOSPEL RADIO STATION FINDS A NEW HOME (story added February 10)
OldTimeChristianRadio, an Internet radio station playing
vintage Southern Gospel music and more, has relocated to a new network to
better serve its listeners. The station began broadcasting solely through the
services of LoudCity/Shoutcast in January. The result is ad-free streaming
with no interruptions and little talk. The broadcasts are free to the
listener.
Owner and program director Barry Flynt says, "The decision to make a change
after almost 3 years with the previous network was a tough one, but one I feel
is a positive step."
OTCR signed on the air in June 2004 with the goal of playing conservative,
vintage Southern Gospel and Sacred music. The station has changed formats just
a bit since its inception, leaning more toward older Southern Gospel and
adding Bluegrass Gospel from current artists to the playlists. Names such as
Blackwood, Statesmen, Harvesters, Oak Ridge, Gethsemane, and many more dot the
playlists daily. The station also plays Southern Gospel from some of todays
artists who have the traditional sound.
Flynt says that he is looking forward to the opportunities the new network
will bring to OTCR. The station will continue to feature an Artist of the
Month and update its website on a regular basis to keep listeners informed of
news, views, and updates. Flynt also says that there are other changes being
considered which will enhance the listening experience.

for Trio of the Year at the Southern Gospel Music Fan Fair which is held in

what you do, what motivates you to go and minister? Our response is this, if
we can go and encourage someone, to lift there spirits when they feel that all
has come to an end, it is worth it all. We love to share with people what God
has done for us in our past experiences. When you face trials in life, God is
right there with you walking by your side and sometimes He is even caring you
through. We love to tell of our testimonies! |

ERNIE COUCH
AND REVIVAL RELEASE NEW PROJECT (story added February 3)
February
third marked the ninety-ninth birthday of one of the nation’s most beloved
Christian singers, George Beverly Shea, and the official release of his latest
recording. Long affiliated with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, Bev
Shea’s rich baritone/bass voice, humble spirit, and God-centered life has
endeared him to millions of listeners around the globe. Bev is the featured
guest on a new CD entitled “Pioneer Hymns,” from Nashville-based Ernie Couch &
Revival.
For several years EC&R had contemplated recording an
all-hymns project. One major hurdle was that of selecting material. Hymns of
the Church have been accumulating for two-thousand years. How do you go about
selecting fifteen songs for a single CD? To narrow the field, the group
decided to limit this project to hymns composed during the 1800s. This still
presented a challenge in selection, and many great hymns of the era that EC&R
would have liked to have recorded were excluded due to space limitations. Each
major project that the group produces, always features a special guest. For
this hymns project, EC&R could think of no one who better exemplified the
world of traditional hymns than Bev Shea. Ernie Couch stated, "As a boy
growing-up in Kansas I would watch on our oft times snowy screened, black and
white television, as Mr. Shea would step to the platform to sing at one of the
great Billy Graham crusades. The walls of our modest house would reverberate
with such perennial selections as, “How Great Thou Art,” “How Big Is God?,”
and my favorite, “I’d Rather Have Jesus.” It never enter the mind of that
small boy that someday he would have the opportunity to record with George
Beverly Shea. Yet, half-a-century later I found myself pulling into a driveway
just outside of Asheville, NC and being greeted by a gracious Bev Shea and his
delightful wife Karlene.
Bev had selected the classic hymn, “The Haven of Rest,”
for the “Pioneer Hymns,” project. During the recording session we marveled as
his voice filled the room, a voice that for me brought a flood of memories,
and carried me back to my childhood. Over the course of the day I asked many
questions, but I was especially interested in his roots and background. I knew
that he was Canadian by birth, and that his father had served as a Wesleyan
minister. In my asking about his father, Bev shared a phrase that spoke
volumes to me, and served as a reminder to the importance of being faithful in
sharing the gospel. He said that when his father was a young man, someone came
to him and as Bev put it, “gently share the gospel with him.” The words
“gently shared” stuck in my mind. How we need to be willing to go and “gently
share” the Good News of Jesus with those around us. We sometimes think that
our individual presentation of the the gospel in our daily lives is of little
importance in the bigger picture of God’s kingdom. Yet, here was a great
example of the impact one witness can have. One individual, whose name has
been forgotten to time, was willing to go and “gently share” the gospel. As a
result, Bev’s father came to know Jesus as his Lord and Savior. In turn, Bev
was raised in a Christian home, were he came to faith in Christ. God then used
Bev to spread the gospel to million around the world. Never underestimate the
importance of “gently sharing” the Good News to those around. Each changed
life has a far-reaching impact on God’s kingdom.
"Pioneer Hymns," is a great collection of some amazing hymns that many will
enjoy. EC&R hopes this CD will also take you back to a time and place when the
simpler things in life brought great joy. You may learn more about EC&R and
“Pioneer Hymns,” by visiting the group’s web site at
www.erniecouchandrevival.com.
