It seems like only a couple of weeks ago that I was reviewing another project by Deena Ashley!  Actually, it was only a couple of weeks ago!  Deena has been a busy person lately recording a couple of new projects.  This latest one is a continuation of the excellence from the one from a few weeks ago.

Deena is a songwriter and the first song on the project was written by her.  "Living In The Victory" is an upbeat song and it reminds us that if we are living with and for Christ, we are living in the victory that is already ours.  It's a very good start to this project.  That song would be considered a song of victory but the all-time great song of victory is "Victory In Jesus."  Deena sings a rousing version of that song next and I loved it.  Another of my favorite hymns is "Nothing But The Blood Of Jesus" and Deena's version of this song is also simply outstanding.

Deena is back with another original song next.  The title is "I Run To You" and the message is one of hope as we are reminded that we can only find peace when we run to Christ.  There was a song that I remember singing when I was growing up.  I've not heard the song in years but Deena sings "I Shall Not Be Moved" and I very much enjoyed hearing it again.  "Rain" is the next song on the project that was written by Deena.  This song is prayer to God asking Him to rain His Blessings on us. 

"Love Lifted Me" is another song that is pretty common in hymn books.  It's always been one that I like because it talks about the power of God's Love!  Deena's version of the song is very uplifting and I enjoyed it a lot.  The final song written by Deena on the project is next.  "Where I'm Going" does a great job of reminding us that our ultimate destination on our earthly journey is Heaven.  Another familiar song is next as Deena put her vocal touch on "I'll Fly Away."  The version is a bit different from the traditional one but I predict you will really enjoy it!  I know I did!

Deena is a talented vocalist and songwriter.  I already knew that from her previous projects.  I enjoyed this project because it mixed a lot of great old hymns with some of Deena's great original songs.  I enjoyed them all and I enjoy the clarity and energy in which Deena sings the songs with. My favorite songs from this project are "Living In The Victory," "I Shall Not Be Moved" and "Love Lifted Me."  The entire project is uplifting and enjoyable and I recommend getting a copy for yourself!  I can't help but wonder if I will get another project from Deena next month!!!  For more information on Deena Ashley, visit her my space page at www.deenaashley.com.
