I admire songwriters.  To be able to put thoughts and ideas on paper and to have them come out as beautiful melodies, amazes me.  There have been many successful writers in Southern Gospel Music over the years.  Some of my favorites over the years have been Mosie Lister, Albert Brumley, Gerald Crabb, Kirk Talley, Phil Cross, Rodney Griffin and many others.  Another favorite is Bill and Gloria Gaither.  I think they are the best songwriting duo ever!

Gaither Music Group has recently released a very unique project that showcases some of the great songs written by Bill and Gloria over the years.  The first reason it is unique is that it is a two disc collection!  That is 20 tracks!  The second reason it is unique is that all of the tracks are medleys of great Gaither songs.

There are over 60 songs featured on the two CD's so I cannot cover them all but I want to hit on a few of my favorites!  First of all was a medley of "Something Beautiful," "I Am Loved" and "We Have This Moment Today."  I love these three songs and this medley features vocals by Joyce Martin Sanders and Bill Gaither.  The next medley that I really enjoyed was the one featuring "Feeling At Home In The Presence Of Jesus," "Old Friends," "More Of You" and "My Faith Still Holds."  This medley features the vocals of Jessy Dixon and Gene McDonald.  The next track I enjoy is a medley of three very powerful songs.  They are "I Believe In A Hill Called Mount Calvary," "I Do Believe" and "Sinner Saved By Grace."  They are sung by Reggie Smith and Bill Gaither.  The final medley that I would put amongst my favorites is the one featuring "Even So Lord Jesus Come," "This Could Be The Dawning Of That Day," "I'm Almost Home" and "Resurrection."  The featured artist on this medley was Marshall Hall.

As you can tell, "Something Beautiful" is a great collection of music from the pen of Bill and Gloria Gaither.  This collection of music is one of the finest I have ever heard from the Gaithers and I would encourage everyone to get a copy of this project and relive some of the great songs written by this talented couple.  For more information visit www.gaithermusic.com.
