Dale and Cheryl Golden is a couple that I have known about since I first became involved with the Southern Gospel Music Forum.  They are a very talented couple and their latest project is very enjoyable.  The project is titled "Hymns Of Gold I" and, as the title suggest, the project chocked full of old, familiar hymns.  There are 20 great songs on the project.

"Jesus Hold My Hand" gets the project off to a great start!  "The Life Boat" is a familiar song from the likes of the Happy Goodman Family and Dale and Cheryl do a great job.  "He Leadeth Me" has been a favorite of mine for a long time and I enjoyed this version.  "How Great Thou Art" is an old standard and it is followed by "The Love Of God."  That song is one of Scott's favorite hymns and this version is very enjoyable.

"God Will Take Care Of You" is a wonderful song that I remember singing in church when I was just a child.  "Powerful Blood Medley" is a medley of songs about the Blood of Jesus and the power of it.  "More About Jesus" brings back many memories as this is the very song I ever sang in church as a special number.  "Near To The Heart Of God" is a great song that is another great hymn of the church.  The next song is a great song titled "I'd Rather Have Jesus."  This classic song is handled very well by Dale and Cheryl.

"I Want To Know More" is the next song and it is followed by "Ten Thousand Years."  That song is was written by Elmer Cole and what an outstanding song!  I had nearly forgotten about the song but it was great to hear Dale and Cheryl sing it.  "Rock Of Ages" is one of the old hymns of the church.  "I Saw The Cross Of Jesus" is next and that is followed up by "I Cannot Find The Way."

The great list of songs continues with the Fanny Crosby classic, "Pass Me Not."  That is followed by a medley of songs about Heaven, appropriately named, "Heaven Medley." "My Jesus I Love Thee" is the next great hymn on the project followed by "I Must Tell Jesus."  The project ends with another true classic, "What A Friend We Have In Jesus."

I am not sure that I have ever heard a better collection of hymns anywhere!  The project is very good as Dale and Cheryl Golden sing each song with feeling and style.  Of course, each song holds a special memory for me and I enjoyed reliving them as I listened.  The project is full of 20 great songs so picking favorites is not easy but I finally settled on "Ten Thousand Years," "He Leadeth Me" and "I'd Rather Have Jesus."  Really the entire project is full of favorites so get a copy and start enjoying these old songs once again!  For more information on Dale and Cheryl Golden, visit www.daleandcherylgolden.com
