The Morris
Trio just sent us their Christmas
Project for review and I wanted to get
that in before the season was past us!
The project includes several songs that
will be familiar to the listeners.
"O Come All
Ye Faithful" is the first song and is
followed by a song called "Gloria."
I know that song as "Angels We Have
Heard On High" and it is one of my
favorites. "The First Noel" is
another standard followed by "It Came
Upon A Midnight Clear."
The Morris
Trio moves towards a traditional tune
with "It's The Most Wonderful Time Of
The Year" which is another Christmas
favorite. "O Holy Night" has
probably been recorded by thousands of
Gospel Groups and this version is a good
one. "He Came Here For Me" is a
song I was not familiar with but I
enjoyed the song and especially the
message of it.
A great
medley is next with "Hark The Herald
Angels Sing" and "Carol Of The Bells."
Another medley of a couple of
traditional songs follows with "Deck The
Halls" and "White Christmas." The
final song on the project was a bit of a
surprise to find on a Southern Gospel
Recording as the Morris Trio sings
"Please Come Home For Christmas."
The Morris
Trio is quite talented and this project
is very enjoyable for the listener.
If there was one negative to it the
instrumentals seems to overpower the
vocals at time but it was only in spots
doesn't hurt the overall enjoyment of
the project. My favorite songs
were "Gloria," "The First Noel" and
"It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The
Year." The Morris Trio is probably
a little more progressive than some
groups but you will enjoy the Christmas
sounds from this talented trio! |
