The
Palmetto State Quartet can always be
counted on to deliver a solid,
traditional project and this project
does not disappoint in anyway!
This group has been turning out some
great music for a long time and I really
enjoy this one!
"Reach For
The Sky" jumps right out of the gate
showcasing the groups quartet harmony
and a very smooth bass line from Burman
Porter! The upbeat tempo continues
with "Beautiful Shining Happy Golden
Shore." The song sounds like a an
old fashioned quartet song and I love
the sound of it. "He's The Anchor
Of My Soul" reminds us that Jesus is the
anchor of our life and we can always
count on Him because He is always in
control of our lives!
"Love Is
The Reason" is a beautiful song that
reminds us of God's Love and the power
of it! "Hopes Harbor" really kicks
it up a notch as only Palmetto State can
do! It's a fast moving and very
enjoyable song. "It Only Takes
One" is another fast moving quartet
song. The message of the song
reminds us of the power of one person,
when that one person is a Child of God!
"In The Land Of The Free" is a well
written song that starts out as a
patriotic song and turns it into a
celebration of that land of the free
that only Christ can deliver you to.
"Gone
Fishin'" you knew was going to be
another up tempo song and it was!
The title of this project is "Thank God
For A Song" and the title cut is next on
the project. What a beautiful
melody as the song speaks of the power
of a Gospel Song, an especially the
songs of old. The final song on
the project is "I've Got It." "It"
is the power of the Holy Ghost and I
pray that you have it too!
The
Palmetto State has a winning combination
right now and this project is one of
their best! I enjoyed every song
and couple that with the producing
talents of Jeff Collins and Crossroads,
you are going to have a winner. My
favorite songs from the project were
tough to pick but I finally decided on
"Reach For The Sky," "Love Is The
Reason" and "Thank God For A Song."
The entire project is simply awesome and
if you love good, male quartet singing,
you need to get yourself a copy!
