Renewed is a group that is based less than an hour from where I live in Hershey, PA.  They are supremely talented group that I have enjoyed since their inception in 2005.  Their latest project is a collection of music that is more associated with Christian Contemporary Music than Southern Gospel but it is still enjoyable and uplifting music.

"So Now We Come" is a great start to the project and opens up a worshipful atmosphere.  "Open The Eyes Of My Heart" is a very popular in CCM and in churches today.  It seems like we sing it every week in my home church!  "Stand Up And Give Him The Praise" is another song of worship and praise that is designed to set that tone.  The next song is titled "Shout To The Lord" and has been made popular, even in Southern Gospel Music, by the likes of the Talley Trio and others.

"You Reign" is another great worship song which we are reminded that the Lord has and always will reign.  "Amazing Love (You Are My King)" is the next song on the project and it's another popular song in CCM.  "We Sing The Sacrifice Of Praise" is a song that was introduced back when I was in college at Syracuse.  It was great to hear the song again.  "I Come To You" is a great song that is brand new.  It was written by group members Janna and Brad Whitenight and Tim James.  "For Those Tears I Died" is a song that goes a long way back!  I believe it was first released in the early 1970's.  The song is still a good one and I enjoyed hearing it again.

"I Confess My Trust" is the next song on the project and it picks up the tempo a bit as this song from the early 1990's is handled beautifully by Renewed.  "Great Is The Lord Almighty" is another praise and worship song about the greatness of our Lord.  "Cry Out Your Name" and "How Deep Is The Father's Love" wraps up this project and I enjoyed both of them.

I must admit that I do listen to a little bit of CCM.  This project is full of many of the hits from that style of music over the past few years.  I enjoyed every song and this is a great tool to use in a praise and worship setting.  My favorite songs from the project are "I Come To You," "For Those Tears I Died" and "Shout To The Lord."  Renewed is a very talented group that can probably handle any style of music you throw at them.  This project is very well produced and the songs are expertly sung.  For more information on Renewed, visit their website at www.renewedmusic.org.
