The
Shannons are a family group that comes
from Indiana and you will enjoy their
family harmonies. Their latest
project was recently received at our
offices at the Southern Gospel Music
Forum and you will enjoy it.
The project
gets off to an upbeat start and "He's
Everything To Me" is a great start to
this project. The next song slows
it down tremendously. "I'll Be So
Glad I Made It Home" is a touching song
that celebrates our journey to Heaven
and our subsequent joy when we finally
arrive! The pace picks up once
again as the Shannons sing "Trading My
Cross For A Crown." This song
reminds us that we will someday trade
our cross for a crown. "I'm Going
Home" is another song about going to
Heaven. That is a subject that I
love and this song does a great job of
reminding us about it.
"He Saw It
All" is the song that was a huge success
for the Booth Brothers. The
Shannons version is enjoyable as well.
"It Is Finished" is a slower song and
the message will bless the listener.
"I'll Leave This Valley Behind" is a
song that will encourage a listener who
is going through a trial. It
reminds us that valleys are only a
temporary thing.
"Way Down
Deep" picks up the tempo once again and
the song reminds us that God can reach
us even way down deep in our heart.
"Home Comings In View" reminds us that
Heaven is just in view and we can make
it if we just trust Christ. "He
Loves You" is a simple message but a
great one! It reminds us that God
loves each and every one of us. I
have always loved the music of the
Hinsons and you will enjoy "Too Many
Times." That is the final song on
this project.
The
Shannons are a true family group with
all members of the group actually family
members. Their song selection is a
nice mix of the familiar and the new
songs. A number of the songs were
written by group members James and Shawn
Shannon and they were good additions to
this project. My favorite songs
from the project are "Too Many Times,"
"He's Everything To Me" and "I'm Going
Home." I am sure that you will
enjoy this project if you listen to it.
