We discover projects and music groups to review in a number of ways.  Through Hymn was the first group that we discovered through Facebook.  Brooklyn actually made the discovery but after we did a little research we discovered a very talented group and once the project arrived we were in no way disappointed.

The project begins with a song titled “God Came Down.”  The song reminds us that that God came down to this earth and dwelt amongst us to bring us grace!  I love that message and this song is a very good one.  “It’s Awaiting For Me” picks up the tempo just a bit and remarks of some of the great things that are waiting for us when we cross to the other side.  Next on the project we find a song titled “I’ll Praise the Lamb.”  This song is a wonderful song of praise and worship and the guys in Through Hymn do an outstanding job with this song.

“It’s Still Jesus” picks up the tempo once again and this song reminds us of the wonderful truth that no matter what others may tell you, it is still Jesus, and only Jesus, who can save us from our life of despair.  “Your Scars For Mine” is a beautiful song that will bless you time and time again.  The song paints a picture of God healing the scars on the inside of us and trading His scars for ours.  What a great lyric in this song and the message is one of the best I have heard in a while.  One of my favorite songs in Southern Gospel Music is the great Dottie Rambo song, “I’ve Never Been This Homesick Before.”  Through Hymn has one of the best arrangements that I have ever heard of this song.  I loved it and I know you will too!  “Not Anymore” is an upbeat song that reminds us of the assurance we can have when we know Christ as our personal Savior.

Another toe-tapper is next with “Jesus Did It For Me.”  I love this song and Through Hymn did a phenomenal job singing this great song.  It reminds the listener of some of the great things that Jesus for us when He saved us!  “Revival” is a wonderful song about having a revival in our land.  This song surely can get it started!  The final song on the project is a song about a prayer.  I love songs about the power of prayer and “God Will Hear Your Prayer” is a wonderful song.  The song was previously recorded by the Kingdom Heirs but Through Hymn has a fantastic version of this great Rodney Griffin song.

Through Hymn is a very talented male trio.  The guys have a tremendous sound and blend and the songs they have chosen for this project will bless you time and time again.  More than half of the songs were written by Rodney Griffin or McCray Dove and throw in a classic from Dottie Rambo and you have a winning formula for a project.  My favorite songs from the project are “I’ve Never Been This Homesick Before,” “Jesus Did It For Me” and Your Scars For Mine.”  All of the songs are excellent and you will enjoy this debut project from this very talented group!  We can hardly wait for the next one!  For more information on Through Hymn, visit their website at www.throughhymn.com.
