The Harris Family is a new artist to us here at the Southern Gospel Music Forum.  Since receive this project, I have listened to the project several times and I enjoy it very much.  The project has twelve songs and all of them will be enjoyed by the listener each time they listen.

“I Was Created To Worship the Lord” is the first song on the project as well as the title song for the project.  The song was written by Greater Vision’s Chris Allman and is a wonderful song of proclamation reminding us that we were created to worship our Lord and Savior.  “All Things New” was written by two of the group members and the song serves to remind us that Christ can take all of our guilt and shame and make everything new.  Things slow down with “Only You Can Wear The Crown.”  This is a beautiful song that looks ahead to what it might be like when we give our rewards in Heaven back to our Savior.  The tempo picks up once again as the Harris Family sings “Open Up the Sky.”  The song has a great message of waiting and receiving God’s blessings.

“I’m Praisin’ Jesus” is a song that gets up and goes!  The song, written by group member Kristen Johnson, praises Jesus for being our Savior and many of the additional wonderful things that He does for us.  “Be Glorified” slows things down once again and this beautiful song tells a wonderful story that will be bless you.  Next on the project is a song called “That’s Why I Worship You.”  I was intrigued by the title of this song and I figured it was going to be a good one.  Turns out, it is a great song that reminds how great God is and that is the reason that we worship Him.  Many songs in Gospel Music talk about how Jesus can change your life.  The Harris Family sing a song titled “Jesus Changed My Life” and this song lists many of the great ways that Jesus changed a Christian’s life and then the songs tells you that He can do the same for you!  I love the song and the message of it.

“The Father Has A Plan” is a wonderfully crafted song about the way that God, as our Father, plans out the plan for our life and how the Father’s plan is always the best.  “Psalm 116” is the title of the next song and the verses in Psalm 116 are some of my favorites.  I enjoyed this musical version of the message of Psalm 116.  The tempo picks up once again with “Testimony Of Grace.”  What a great message in this song reminding us of the testimony we have once we have experienced God’s Grace in our lives!  The final song on the project is titled “Message Of The Cross.”  This song is a great ending to the project as it reminds us of the true message that was expressed on the cross the day that Christ died for our sins.

As I mentioned earlier, the Harris Family is a new artist to us.  The group is very talented with very good vocal skills, a couple of talented songwriters in the group and some good production behind the project.  I enjoyed the entire project and was very blessed by the songs that the Harris Family chose to put on this recording.  My favorite songs from the project are “Testimony Of Grace,” “Only You Can Wear The Crown” and “I Was Created To Worship The Lord.” The entire project is very good and I would highly recommend this project to anyone who enjoys great Southern Gospel Music!  For more information on the Harris Family, visit their website at www.harrisfamilymusic.com.
