There are several groups traveling today who could lay claim to the "best male quartet today" title.  However, in my book that title belongs to Legacy Five.  This group has turned out one great project after another since their inception and they do it with flat out vocal abilities.

"In A Million Years" is fast song which is always a good way to start a Southern Gospel recording.  This song reminds us that in a million years will still be singing His Praises!  That is a pretty comforting thought that God is the same today as He will be in a million years!  "The Moment I Get Up There" is a very good traditional male quartet song.  I love the message of this song as it serves to remind us that once we arrive in Heaven we will forget all about everything "down here."  "Goin' Home Day" slows it down just a bit and it is another song about going home to Heaven.  The next song is the wildly popular single from this project titled "Hello After Goodbye."  The song has a great message that once a Christian person passes on we will being saying hello after the earthly goodbye if we too are saved.

Project Title: Always Have A Song

There are a lot of trios in Southern Gospel Music these days but there are few in the class of the Mark Trammell Trio.  This group hit the ground running and has turned out great project after great project.  Their latest effort is another exceptional recording from this very talented group.

"I Know That I Know" is an upbeat song and I cannot think of any better way to start this project.  The song gets the listeners attention right away with the harmonies and great message.  Things slow down tremendously on the next song.  "Loving The Lamb" is the title of the song and once again the harmonies are exceptional.  The tempo picks up once again with "Called In Called Up Called Out."  This is a song that the listeners will enjoy and it speaks of the calling that God puts on our life!

Project Title: Moment Of Truth

Gold City, the name alone reminds us of those great groups that graced stages across America throughout the 1980's and 1990's.  The group has gone through some transitions recently but this project shows us that Gold City can still sing quartet music.

"Don't Get Me Started" is an up tempo song and it shows that the great traditional sounds that Gold City is so well known for is still very much there.  The next song is "What Children Believe" and this song is a great song about the family and what it should be like.  Coming up next we have a song from the pen of Joel and Labreeska Hemphill.  The title is "I Cast My Bread Upon The Water" and you will enjoy the upbeat message and the quartet singing.

Artist: Brian Free and Assurance

Project Title: Timeless Hymns & Classics Volume 2

Brian Free and Assurance have been around for several years now and are widely regarded as one of the best in Southern Gospel Music.  They do a fine job of showing what male four-part harmony is all about.  When you couple that harmony with some of the finest classic songs in Southern Gospel Music you have a real winning project!

"Your First Day In Heaven" gets the project off to a fast start and the guys sing the song to perfection.  The next song is one of my all-time favorite songs.  It is titled "What A Beautiful Day For The Lord To Come Again."  I love the song and the message really expresses what all Christians feel.  The next song is a true quartet classic made famous by the Kingsmen over 30 years ago.  "Glory Road" is the song and the song remains a favorite today, especially when you put Brian Free on that famous tenor part in the song.
