Final Harvest
Final Harvest is a ladies trio based in Rochester, NY and they still have dates available for 2017!!!! The message of Final Harvest: God will send to His Church an unquenchable fire. The wind of the Holy Spirit will cause it to burn hotter than on the day of Pentecost, and spread rapidly. It will spread with fury and devour all that is not holy. Then He will send the latter rain, wash away the dross, refresh and make new. The Glory of the Lord will be seen by the entire world and manifested through His Church. There begins the end time harvest.

I have said a number of times that the Talley Trio is one of my favorite groups. I love the harmony from this group and their talent is incredible. Their latest project is a great one that celebrates some of their musical influences over the years and they even invite some them to join the group on the project!
"God Is Great Good And Merciful" is an old song that Roger's parents sang for years in local churches and the Talley Trio put the song on this project to honor them. The song is an upbeat song that Roger, Debra and Lauren do an outstanding job on. "True Love Has No Limits" is the next song and this song reminds us that the Love of God has no limits. "Paramount Love" is the first song to welcome a special guest. Connie Hopper of the Hoppers lends her voice to this song. Both Roger and Debra spent time with the Hoppers. This song about God's Love is great and, of course, we always love to hear Connie Hopper sing!
The Gaither Vocal Band is obviously one of the top groups in Southern Gospel Music. Whenever this group comes out with a new release, production around here stops until we all hear it! Personally, I have followed the group since their inception and I have most of their projects from years gone by. Their latest project is another good one in a long line of high quality projects.
One thing I love about the Gaither Vocal Band is that they are never afraid to sing an old song! This project starts out with an old Imperials song titled "I'm Forgiven." I loved hearing this song again and I enjoy this version. Keeping the older songs going they sing "Build An Ark" next. This song was written in the late 1970's and a lot of quartets have sung it over the years. The Gaither Vocal Band version is certainly one of the best I've heard. "Jesus And John Wayne" is the next song. I know, I did a double take when I read that title too! The song is actually a neat one and you will enjoy hearing the story about someone growing up who was somewhere between Jesus and John Wayne. One of my favorite Gaither songs is "Go Ask." That song is next and I love this version and love the message even more.
Southern Gospel Music groups come in all styles and if you are looking for something just a bit different, look no further than the Reggie Saddler Family! This family has been singing quality music for a number of years. Their latest effort is another good one!
The project gets off to a rousing start with "Start And Finish" which proclaims that we start and we finish our day with our prayer. Good advice that I hope we all will follow. Reggie wrote this song that is sure to become a favorite. "Whiter Than Snow" is an old song that I first heard the Singing Americans sing. This version is also very good. The Reggie Saddler Family sings their share of the old hymns and you will very much enjoy their version of "Higher Ground." "Listen Everybody" is another song from Reggie's pen and it's another good one.
A few years ago I became acquainted with a name in the Southern Gospel Industry. That name was Dora Pop. Dora worked in the industry for a couple of years but she has now released her debut project and it is truly a great one.
The project begins with "In The Day Of The Lord." I love this song as it talks of the day that we will be united with Christ on the day of His Returning. What a great song and a great presentation of that thought. "Storyteller" is the next song and this song reminds the listen that we all need to be telling the story of Jesus and the life changing message in our lives. The next song on the project is a very good one. The song is titled "Open The Sea" and this song reminds us of the parting of the Red Sea and it goes on to ask the Lord to part the sea in our lives. The song is very well written by Amy Henning and Dora delivers an awesome performance on the song. Dora has a couple of special guests on this project and the next song features one of my favorites. Dora is joined by the Perrys on "The Rock" and the result is simply outstanding. I love the line in the chorus that says "the stone could not hold back the Rock." The Perrys are in top form on this song as well!
When it comes to popular groups in Southern Gospel Music I would have to imagine that Greater Vision is at or near the top of most people's list. While Greater Vision has long been associated with quality Gospel Music and great songs, this project is slightly different. This project features Greater Vision and the Prague Symphony Orchestra singing some of the great hymns of the church.
The project begins with a rousing medley featuring "All Creatures Of Our God And King" and "Oh For A Thousand Tongues To Sing." "Come Thou Fount Of Many Blessings" is the next song and once again Greater Vision does a fantastic job on this hymn. One of my favorite hymns is next as the guys sing "Tell Me The Story Of Jesus." I love the harmonies on this great song and who better to sing those harmonies than some of the best in the business. Next on the project is "The Stranger Of Galilee." It has been a while since I heard this song but I enjoyed the song once again.
