Final Harvest
Final Harvest is a ladies trio based in Rochester, NY and they still have dates available for 2017!!!! The message of Final Harvest: God will send to His Church an unquenchable fire. The wind of the Holy Spirit will cause it to burn hotter than on the day of Pentecost, and spread rapidly. It will spread with fury and devour all that is not holy. Then He will send the latter rain, wash away the dross, refresh and make new. The Glory of the Lord will be seen by the entire world and manifested through His Church. There begins the end time harvest.

Rejoice! is a group that has been around for a while now and this female trio is a talented one.  I believe I first met the group at NQC in 2001 and I have been a fan since.  The group is talented and their latest project is simply outstanding!

"Let It Rain" is the title song and the upbeat start to this project!  The song asks the Lord to rain His Blessings down on us!  "Grace" is the next song and I believe that is a song that has been recorded by other groups.  Regardless of that, the song has a good message and I enjoyed their version.  Rejoice!, in my view, has always been one of the best group's at delivering the fast, traditional songs.  "God Is Good" is one such song and I love this song!  The message is obvious, God Is Good, but the delivery of this song makes it exceptional.  "Everything" is written by one of my favorite writers that you may not know.  Patti Hawkins is an exceptional writer and this song, co-written with Kevin Stokes, shows that exceptional talent with a beautiful song of how God gives us everything.

"The Book" picks up that pace once again and I love the smooth harmonies from Rejoice! on this song.  "I Will Carry You" is another outstanding song that reminds us that God will carry us through any trial that we face.  The next song was written in 1995 according to the credits on the CD jacket but I don't recall ever hearing it before.  "There Is A God" is an upbeat song that is very enjoyable.  "Preach The Word" is the next song and it challenges each of us as Christians to get out there and preach the Word, wherever you are!

"Under His Wings" is a beautiful song with an equally beautiful message.  I believe this is the same song recorded by the Ruppes several years ago and it was great to hear this great song again.  "Who Is He In Yonder Stall" is another beautiful, slow melody.  "Tell The Storm" was written by Gary Castro and Barbara Huffman and this song is a great source of hope for anyone who faces a storm in their life.  It reminds us that we can tell our storms that God is in control!  What a great message.  The final song on this project is a slow one titled "Rest In Me."  It is a simple prayer asking the Lord to rest in us.

Rejoice! has long been a favorite group of mine.  This talented ladies trio has terrific harmony and an ability to deliver songs that few groups have achieved.  This project has twelve songs that are a great mixture of the known songs and the unknown songs.  I enjoyed them all but my favorites were "Everything," "God Is Good" and "Under His Wings."  Rejoice! is a group that has been turning out great projects for years so that makes "Let It Rain" another in a long list.  If you enjoy great harmony and solid Southern Gospel singing, this project is for you!  For more information on Rejoice!, visit www.rejoicetrio.com.

Poet Voices has been around long enough for most of us to know that they will try different things from time to time.  There are a couple of unusual things about this project.  First of all, it only includes one song written by Phil Cross.  Secondly, the projects includes several songs that are well known in contemporary music.  That seems to be a growing trend in Southern Gospel Music but Poet Voices manages to pull it off!

"Still I Will Worship You" is the opening song on the project and it is a true praise and worship song. The next song is titled "Who Am I" but it is not the Rusty Goodman classic.  This one is written by Mark Hall and has an equally good message to the classic song.  The third track on this project is a medley titled "Holy Holy Holy Medley."  The songs in this medley are "We Fall Down," a contemporary music favorite and "Holy Holy Holy" and "Holy Holy."

"Above All" is the next song and it reminds us that God is above all things.  "Trading My Sorrows" was written by Darrell Evans and this version from Poet Voices was very enjoyable.  "There Is A Redeemer" is a song from the 1980's I believe.  It is a praise and worship standard in many settings even today.  "In The Sanctuary" is a Kurt Carr song and proclaims that we will praise Christ for the rest of our days.

"Your Grace Still Amazes Me" is a beautiful song about God's Grace and just how amazing it is!  Another medley is up next and they call it the "Friend Medley."  The songs in this medley are "Big Big God" and "Friend Of God."  It reminds us that God is our friend, along with a lot of other things.  The final song on the project is written by Phil Cross and Tony Wood.  "Before You Knew How To Love Me" is a wonderful song with a great message that will be enjoyed by those who hear it.

As I said, Poet Voices is not the first Southern Gospel Group to sing contemporary music.  The Talley Trio and Lefevre Quartet are two who have done it successfully.  Poet Voices handles this style of music well.  If you are a fan of contemporary and praise and worship music, you will enjoy the project.  I do enjoy this style of music and I like this project.  My favorite songs from the project are "Still I Worship You," "There Is A Redeemer" and "In The Sanctuary."  This is not a typical Poet Voices project but I believe that most of their fans will still enjoy it.  The style is contemporary but there is enough Southern Gospel in there so that the fans will still enjoy it and be blessed by it.  For more information, visit www.poetvoices.com.

Curt Davis is a former member of such groups as the Perrys and the Whisnants.  Today, Curt has embarked on a solo ministry and this project is a very good one.  His project showcases a talented singer and songs by various writers.

The project begins with an upbeat song titled "Walking The Way."  It is a song that is basically about our earthly journey to our Heavenly Home!  The song is also the debut radio single from the project.  The next song is titled "Again" and it is written by master songwriter Rodney Griffin.  I am not sure if the song has been recorded before or not but I have never heard it.  I do love the message of the song.  "Hands Of Grace" is a terrific song that you will enjoy both the message and the melody.  "Find Your Wings" slows down the tempo tremendously.  The song is a beautiful ballad that will be enjoyed by all who hear it.

If you have listened to Southern Gospel Music over the past few years you have undoubtedly heard of a group called Three Bridges.  Dave McVay was a big part of that group's sound and he is now out on his own.  This is his debut project and it's very enjoyable!

"I Didn't Think It Could Be" is a great upbeat song written by Andrae Crouch and Dave does a phenomenal job singing this outstanding song.  The melody slows down tremendously as Dave sing "He Took The Cross" next.  What an incredible message in this beautiful song that talks about how God took our cross for us  "Let Faith Answer The Door" is the next song on the project and Dave delivers a solid performance on this Rebecca J. Peck song.  It simply reminds us that when doubt knocks, let faith answer the door!  I love that message!

"Beyond The Grave" is a song that seems familiar to me from somewhere but regardless, the song has a great message of hope for anyone who has lost a loved one.  "Can't Believe My Eyes" once again picks up the tempo and it is an outstanding song about faith in God.  "Bless Your Holy Name Again" is an awesome song that is a prayer set to music.  The song reminds us that when we pray, we sometimes to need to just worship Jesus and Bless that Holy Name of Jesus!  A great reminder to each and every Christian.  "Waitin' On Jesus" is a bit of a different melody but is still very enjoyable.  The message is also a good one.

"He Lifted Me" is a familiar song written by Rodney Griffin.  Dave does a fine job delivering this song on this project.  "Breakin' Chains" is a songBuy It Now! that reminds us that when we follow Jesus, He can and will break all chains that bound us.  There are a few songs in Southern Gospel Music that a true classics and "There Is A River" would qualify as one.  Dave closes out this project with an outstanding performance on that classic song.

Dave McVay is talented as I am sure you already know if you have ever heard Three Bridges.  This project shows that Dave can hold his own as a soloist as well.  This project has ten strong songs that will bless you time and time again.  The Crossroads production is outstanding as always and the song selection mixes both old and new songs.  My favorite songs from the project are "I Didn't Think It Could Be," "Bless Your Holy Name Again" and "Can't Believe My Eyes."  Dave's debut solo project is a good one and I hope you will take the time to learn more about this talented individual.  For more information visit www.davemcvaymusic.com.

Brittni Ward is a young lady that I just recently heard about!  First of all, I am always thrilled to see young people involved in Southern Gospel Music and I am really trilled when they are as talented as Brittni is!  This project is outstanding and I hope that everyone reading this will give it a listen and consider supporting this ministry.

"You Couldn't Have Picked A More Perfect Day" is the title song and the first song on the project.  This upbeat song reminds us that God is always right on time and His timing is always perfect!  "He Made A Way" is another upbeat song from Brittni and it reminds us that God will always make a way through any trial we might have.  "Faithful Hands" is a song that we love here at the Southern Gospel Music Forum.  The song is a slow melody and it reminds us that when we put our faith and trust in God, He is always faithful to lead us.

"God Is Faithful" is another song about having faith in God and how that faith will always carry you through your daily life.  "I Already Knew" is a terrific song written by Rebecca J. Peck.  The song reminds us that God already knows what we are going through and has been there before.  The next song reminds us to trust in God with "Trustworthy God."  "I'm Here" is a great song that will be a great source of encouragement for anyone going through a trial.

"He'll Be" is a kickin' song that will get you up on your feet!  The song reminds us that God will be whatever you need at any given time.  It is a very enjoyable song with an even greater message.  "Stay Close To Me" is an amazing song with a prayer set to music.  The song asks God to to stay close to us as we journey through a rough time.  That is something we should all ask of God each and every day.  The final song on this project is another upbeat one.  "I'm Out Of Here" is a great song about that final destination of Heaven!

Brittni Ward is a teenager but she sings like a seasoned professional.  This project is well produced and the song selection is outstanding.  Brittni delivers terrific performances on all ten cuts and you will be blessed by all of the songs on the project.  My favorite songs on the project are "You Couldn't Have Picked A More Perfect Day," "I'm Out Of Here" and "Stay Close To Me."  All of the songs on this project are very good and you will enjoy Brittni's singing on this project.  Get more information on Brittni from her website at www.brittniward.com.
