Final Harvest
Final Harvest is a ladies trio based in Rochester, NY and they still have dates available for 2017!!!! The message of Final Harvest: God will send to His Church an unquenchable fire. The wind of the Holy Spirit will cause it to burn hotter than on the day of Pentecost, and spread rapidly. It will spread with fury and devour all that is not holy. Then He will send the latter rain, wash away the dross, refresh and make new. The Glory of the Lord will be seen by the entire world and manifested through His Church. There begins the end time harvest.

Artist: Jim Brady Trio
Project Title: A New Chapter
Label: Daywind
Producers: Jim Brady and Tim Parton

One of the most celebrated groups to come along in Southern Gospel Music in the past several years is the Jim Brady Trio.  After spending several years with the Booth Brothers, Jim Brady, along with his wife Melissa and Tim Parton stepped out as the Jim Brady Trio to a great deal of fan fair.  The group has not disappointed in anyway and their debut project, titled "A New Chapter" is a great collection of music that is sure to set this group on an incredibly successful journey.

The project starts out with an appropriately titled song.  "God Of What's To Come" is a great testament for this group and for all of us as Christians as we step out into new chapters of our own lives.  The tempo picks up with "You Can Depend On Jesus" and this song is a great reminder of Christ's faithfulness to His Children.  We can depend on Jesus and we should never forget that.  Next on the project is "The Greatest Of All Miracles" and I love this song! It reminds us that of all of the great miracles that Jesus Christ performed, the greatest one of all is that He saved me!  "Steppin' Out In Faith" is a song about the faith we should have in God.  Yes, with all of the examples in the Bible of faith it should be easy for us to step out in faith and do what God has commanded us to do.

Jim and Melissa Brady has a hand in writing many of the songs on this project.  "On My Way Home" is one of those songs and I love it! It reminds us that we are just passing through this earth below and we are on our way Home! Next on the project the Jim Brady Trio kicks it up a notch with "Good Lord Willing."  I love the song and it talks about telling everybody about the Love of Christ every day of our lives! One of my very favorite hymns is "The Love Of God" so imagine my absolute delight to discover the song on this project!  I love this arrangement of the song and the performance is nothing short of perfect! "When He Saved Me" is the next song on the project and what a powerful message in this song.

Jason Runnels - The Answer

Artist: Jason Runnels
Project Title: The Answer
Label: Independent
Producers: Jason Runnels and Mike Welch

Jason Runnels is a name known in Southern Gospel Music as a former member of Tony Gore and Majesty and the Down East Boys.  These days, Jason is traveling as a soloist and has recorded three projects.  The latest project is titled "The Answer" and it is a collection of ten songs that you will enjoy.

The project begins with a familiar song and one my all time favorite songs.  The song is "Sail On" and I have loved this song since I first heard the Imperials sing it.  Jason does a good job singing the song and I always love to hear that great old song again.  The next song is a beautiful ballad titled "When God Unfolds The Rose." The message of the song is as beautiful as the melody is as it reminds us in a very unique way that God is always in control of every situation and God will do everything in His time.  Another old song is next as Jason sings "If We Never Meet Again."  I have always enjoyed that song and the message of it.

"Daystar" is one of those songs that nearly every Gospel Music artist has recorded at one time or another.  Jason's version is a good one and, of course, this song is one of the great prayers set to music.  "Smile On Your Face" is a song that I remember the Down East Boys singing.  I always enjoyed the message of the song that we as Christians wear a smile on our face that is usually quite easily detectible for another Christian!  "Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone)" is, of course, a popular song from Christian Contemporary Music and Chris Tomlin.  The message is a good one as it reminds us that Jesus did take away the chains of sins in our lives.  Jason sings a lively version of one of the great church hymns next as he tackles "Just A Closer Walk."  A great performance on a great song.

Artist: Wanda Osborne
Project Title: Keep On Walking
Label: CrossLine Records
Producers: Phil Cross

A little over a month ago I was emceeing a revival and I met a woman and her husband that were just incredibly nice people.  The woman was singing and preaching at the event and the friendship was instant.  Wanda Osborne was her name and her latest project is titled "Just Keep Walking."  The project is simply outstanding and it has then wonderful songs on it, nine of which were written by Wanda.

The title song is the first one on the project and "Just Keep Walking" is a great song of encouragement.  This song reminds us, as Christians, to just keep walking because we are going Home.  What a great reminder and a great message.  "Singing The Same Song" is the next song on the project and Wanda has crafted a song that asks a very good question and that is why can't all of God's Children just get along because after all, we are all singing the same song. The next song on this project is titled "If You Have It Today" and this song is a great reminder of the power that we have through Christ!

"Blessed To Be A Soldier" is a beautiful song that reminds the listener that we are all blessed to be a Soldier of the Cross in our daily walk with the Lord.  The next track on the CD is titled "I'm A Winner Either Way."  The message of this song is all about how God can make us a winner no matter what we have been through or going to go through.  It is a great song with a great message.  "Born In Bethlehem" sounds like a Christmas song and, while I guess this song could be a Christmas song, it is also a great song any time of the year.  It talks of how the Christ Child was born to make us who we are when He died on the Cross for our sins!  What an awesome thought and truth! "Thank You For Loving Me" is a slow ballad that Wanda sings beautifully.  I love the chorus as it is a prayer of thankfulness set to music.

Artist: McKameys
Project Title: What If
Label: Horizon
Producers: Jeff Collins and Roger Fortner

The McKameys are a name that have been around Southern Gospel Music for a long time.  Their list accomplishments are many and there is a long line of people who have been touched by their music and by their kindness.  They have just released a brand new project and "What If" is another great project from this family group.

The project gets off to an upbeat start with "I'm Gonna Give It Away."  It talks about giving away the light of Jesus within us.  I love the message and it is a great start to the project.  "Your Prayers Have Been Heard" is an awesome song about prayer.  What a great concept prayer is and what a great thought to know that God does hear us when we pray.  Next on the project is another great song that is titled "There Is A Peace."  This song talks of the incredible peace that we can find in the midst of a storm through Jesus Christ.

"Where He Is" continues to carries on the encouraging message of this project.  It reminds us that there is no reason to worry because eventually we will be spending our eternity where Christ is. Group member Sheryl Ferris wrote "While I Wait" which is the next song on the project.  What a wonderfully crafted song that reminds us that we need to be telling others about Christ while we wait for Him to come back.  The tempo picks up again with "I'll Give You Grace."  I love the message of this song that reminds us that God will give us grace to handle every situation on this earth.  The next song on the project is "Lift My Voice."  I love this song because it reminds us that we can and should lift our voice to Christ even as we are going through troubles and trials.

Artist: Ray Vester
Project Title: I Cast My Bread Upon The Water
Label: Independent
Producers: Ray Vester

Ray Vester is someone that we have reviewed a few different times on this website.  His latest effort is titled "I Cast My Bread Upon The Water" and it is another good effort from Ray.

The first song on the project is the title song of the project.  "I Cast My Bread Upon The Water" is a familiar song in Gospel Music and I always enjoying hearing it again. When it some to familiar and classic songs in Southern Gospel Music, it gets no more familiar than "Who Am I."  I have always loved the message of this great song and the question that it asks.  "God Delivers Again" is the next song on the project and this song does a wonderful reminding that God will deliver us from situations time after time.  The next song on the project is a former number one song for Karen Peck and New River.  It has been several years since I heard "Four Days Late."  The song is still a great one and it was great to hear it again.

"Come On In" picks up the tempo and reminds us that we can find rest in our Savior, Jesus Christ.  Next on the project is a song titled "Out Of Bondage."  It is a beautiful song with a tremendous message that will speak to the listener. Next up on the project is the upbeat song "Angels Step Back."  The song talks of that day when we reach Heaven and what a great thought that is!
