Final Harvest
Final Harvest is a ladies trio based in Rochester, NY and they still have dates available for 2017!!!! The message of Final Harvest: God will send to His Church an unquenchable fire. The wind of the Holy Spirit will cause it to burn hotter than on the day of Pentecost, and spread rapidly. It will spread with fury and devour all that is not holy. Then He will send the latter rain, wash away the dross, refresh and make new. The Glory of the Lord will be seen by the entire world and manifested through His Church. There begins the end time harvest.

Artist: Nelons Project Title: Hymns: The A Cappella Sessions Label: Daywind Producers: Lari Goss and Jason Clark
Call me old fashioned or crazy or out of touch or whatever else you choose, but I love to hear the old hymns. If you take those old hymns, put some great voices to them and sing them a cappella, well, that is just about as close to Heaven as you can get here on this earth! The Nelons have recently recorded a project of hymns and they sing a cappella arrangements of each one. To make this project even more special, the late Lari Goss, assisted in the production and arranging of the project.
The project starts out with "The Hallelujah Chorus" which might be a bit of a surprising start but it is an incredible arrangement and performance on it and it sets the tone for the entire project. The next song on the project is a very special song to me. I remember my mom working around the house when I was a kid singing "Tis So Sweet To Trust In Jesus." While my mom has been in Heaven more than 10 years now and she never sang the song quite as well as the Nelons, this song brings back wonderful memories to me and also reminds me of one of the great Christian truths, that it is very sweet to trust in Jesus. "There Is A Fountain" is the next song on the project and one of the many things I love about this project is that the arrangements are different, unique and enjoyable but yet, the songs still sound familiar! This song is a great example of that.
Artist: Becky Miller Project Title: Heart Songs Label: Independent Producers: Joey Wilson
Most days Becky Miller can be found singing with the Millers. However, Becky did step out and record a solo project that is nothing short of fantastic. Becky has a tremendous voice and these ten songs are all performed very well and will continuously bless you the more you listen to them.
The project begins with a song that took me back a bunch of years. Becky sings the old Hemphills classic titled "Good Things." I forgot how great that song is and I really enjoyed it! Next on the project is "He Sees What We Don't." What a great reminder that God sees things that we don't and we can trust Him as we navigate through this life down here. "He Will Come Through" is another wonderful song of encouragement that reminds us that God will always come through for us.
An up tempo song follows as Becky sings "In Everything Give Thanks." The songs speaks of giving God thanks no matter what we are facing. We can do that because God can turn around any circumstance in our life. Next on the project is a song I first heard by Karen Peck and New River. The song is titled "Broken Into Beautiful" and it has a beautiful message of how God can change us in miraculous ways and take our broken lives and make them beautiful. "Shine" is a song that was recently released to radio by Zane and Donna King and, in fact, Donna co-wrote the song. The song reminds us that we, as Christians, should shine in this world regardless of what we are facing or going through in life. I have always loved the song "Working For My Good." I first heard the song on a CD by the writer of the song, Patti Hawkins. I knew then it was going to be a great song and sure enough, other artists began to record it. I love the version that Becky has of this song and there is no doubt that God is working for our good!
Artist: Brothers In Grace Project Title: Gospel Memories Label: Independent Producers: Danny Funderburk
Brothers In Grace is a male quartet that I have known for quite a few years. They are from Hershey, PA which is near the area where I lived in Pennsylvania for almost 20 years. I have reviewed three prior recordings from Brothers In Grace and have enjoyed their music and ministry for a number of years. Their latest project has eleven songs on it and all are sure to be enjoyed by the listener.
The project begins with an old Cathedral classic titled "When I Move." It talks about being ready to move on up to Heaven. I know I am and I pray that you are too. One of the great old songs that I remember when I was growing up was "The Old Fashioned Meeting" and this song brought back some great memories for me and made me long for those days of old fashioned meetings. "If You Know The Lord" slows down the tempo as this beautiful song reminds us that if we know the Lord, that is all we need. Another Cathedral classic is next as the guys sing "Wedding Music." That was always one of my favorite songs from the Cathedrals and I always enjoy hearing it again.
One of the most beautiful songs that I have ever heard is "How Long Has It Been." Brothers In Grace sings this thought provoking song next. Once again the tempo picks up with "The Depths Of The Father's Love." This is a song about the Love of God and the enormous depth of His Love. "Lead Me, Guide Me" is a beautiful song that is a prayer set to music asking God to be our guide in life.
Artist: Amber Nelon Thompson Project Title: Without Your Love Label: Daywind Producers: Jason Clark
The name Nelon has been associated with great Gospel Music since I first began following Southern Gospel Music in the mid-1970's. Rex Nelon was a tremendous bass singer that had sung with a few different groups and he had just organized the Rex Nelon Singers which included his daughter Kelly. Fast forward to the current days and, of course, Rex Nelon has been called home to his reward. However, the Nelons are still going strong headed by Kelly and her husband Jason Clark. Included in that group is Kelly's daughter, Amber Nelon Thompson. Amber is a young lady who, without a doubt, inherited a lot of musical ability from her famous grandfather and mother. Recently, Amber stepped out and recorded an extended play album that includes four terrific songs.
Amber is one of today's up and coming talents in Southern Gospel Music. She has a pleasing soprano voice that is perfectly suited for the blending and harmony that is associated with Southern Gospel Music. However, Amber is perfectly capable and confident in taking the lead on a song. She sings with power and authority and can touch you and bless you with her talent.
The EP begins with a slow and beautiful song titled "What Do You Say?" The song asks a question as it talks of difficult circumstances and than asks what do you say to giving those difficult circumstances over to God. A great song and a wonderful message. The next song is titled "Grateful" and this is a little more of an upbeat melody. The song carries a wonderful message of being grateful to God for everything that He has given us here on this earth. That includes the good things and the difficult things which has taught us so much and caused us to grow. Another talented, young singer named Joseph Habedank joins Amber on the next track titled "Without Your Love." This is a truly a well-written and incredibe song! There is no doubt that it is a song about love and God's Love is an amazing thing that we always love to celebrate. The final song on this EP is "Falling" This is another beautiful song that Amber puts her voice to and I know that you will enjoy this beautiful song and the wonderful message of how we see life falling apart but God sees life falling into place. What an amazing thought!
Artist: Tribute Project Title: Journey Of Hope Label: Daywind Producers: Roger Talley
It is no secret at all and if you know me at all you know that I have loved male quartet music since I was a little kid. I grew up listening to groups like the Cathedrals and the Kingsmen and JD Sumner and the Stamps. Thankfully, there are many male quartets around today that are carrying on the tradition of that great four-part harmony. One of those quartets is Tribute and their latest project is a good one.
The project gets off to a rousing start with "He Can Do It Again." The song also carries with it a great reminder that all of those things that God has done in the past, He can do them all again. Next on the project we find a song titled "All Made It Ashore." This Marcia Henry song is a well crafted song with a terrific message. "I Am A Soldier" slows down the tempo and this is a song about the victorious soldier that we all are in God's Army. Next up is a great quartet song titled "I Remember The Day." It is a fantastic day that takes us back to that great day when Jesus saved our soul!
"Those Who Know Me" keeps that tempo right up there as the song lists a number of things that we who know Christ get to enjoy each and every day. Next on the project is Dianne Wilkinson and Rebecca J. Peck song titled "I Will Rise." This song reminds us that through Jesus Christ we can and will rise above any trials that come our way because trials do not last forever. The pace picks up once again with "Everything I Need." What a great reminder that Jesus is everything that we will ever need here in this life.
